But this is pretty cool:

Not cool because of the subject matter, but cool because of the real thought put into it and the faux-scientific approach she takes.

It’s gonna be the sweetest dollar I’ve ever won.

Correlation?

Posted: September 27, 2010 in Rules

So I haven’t posted anything in a while and I’m behind on updating things.  I have also lost two straight weeks.  Is there a correlation?

Sorry about Week 1…

Posted: September 15, 2010 in Rules

Sorry I crushed everyone.  My bad.

For realz though, I apologize for not putting up a preview video.  I had one lined up but couldn’t the music down before Sunday Kickoff.  There’s be one for Week 2 though.

Speaking of week 1, I was watching games on the internet (no TV) and ended up watching an ESPN America stream of a game.  ESPN America is what the Euros watch in Euroland.  Apparently there’s a UK version of PTI:

http://www.espn.co.uk/other/sport/video_audio/45323.html

It was odd to see a clip of them discussing cricket with such passion.  Tony and Wilbon they are not.

Anyways, bring on week 2.

And the rest, Rounds 10-15:

ROUND 10

Pick Overall By Player
1 101 Alan Minnesota, MIN, DEF
2 102 Rick Owen Daniels, HOU, TE
3 103 Louie Terrell Owens, CIN, WR
4 104 Tom Devin Hester, CHI, WR
5 105 Brian Chris Cooley, WAS, TE
6 106 Warren Zach Miller, OAK, TE
7 107 Geoff Kellen Winslow, TB, TE
8 108 Eric Michael Bush, OAK, RB
9 109 Greg Bernard Berrian, MIN, WR
10 110 Jim Dez Bryant, DAL, WR

Best Pick of the Round – Greg, Bernard Berrian:  Berrian becomes the default #1 WR on MIN with Rice out.  Someone’s gotta catch those passes and it’ll probably be Berrian.

Worst Pick of the Round – Alan, Minnesota Defense:  Defense = crap shoot.

Biggest ReachI’m a Gamblin’ Man – Brian, Chris Cooley:  He used to be a stud.  Can he return to form?  He’s got a better QB now, but he is coming off a significant injury and an emerging Fred Davis.

ROUND 11

Pick Overall By Player
1 111 Jim Donald Brown, IND, RB
2 112 Greg Tony Gonzalez, ATL, TE
3 113 Eric Jay Cutler, CHI, QB
4 114 Geoff Jacoby Jones, HOU, WR
5 115 Warren Jerome Harrison, CLE, RB
6 116 Brian Steve Slaton, HOU, RB
7 117 Tom Garrett Hartley, NO, K
8 118 Louie Donovan F. McNabb, WAS, QB
9 119 Rick Santonio Holmes, NYJ, WR
10 120 Alan Kenny Britt, TEN, WR

Best Pick of the Round – Warren, Jerome Harrison: A beast the last few weeks of last year.  With Hardesty injured, there’s going to be a heavy dose of Harrison from Cleveland’s terrible offense.  You can thank Alan for passing on him.

Worst Pick of the Round – Tom, Garrett Hartley: Sorry Tom, but you can’t take  a kicker before the last round.  Rules are rules.

I’m a Gamblin’ Man – Greg, LaDainian Tomlinson:  That’s a tough name to type.  Does he or doesn’t he have anything left in the tank?  Is he going to vulture TDs from Shonn Greene?  Should the Jets not have given up Thomas Jones?  I say he’s toast, but time will tell.

ROUND 12

Pick Overall By Player
1 121 Alan Laurence Maroney, NE, RB
2 122 Rick Carnell Williams, TB, RB
3 123 Louie New York Jets, NYJ, DEF
4 124 Tom Eli Manning, NYG, QB
5 125 Brian Baltimore, BAL, DEF
6 126 Warren Vincent Jackson, SD, WR
7 127 Geoff Tim Hightower, ARI, RB
8 128 Eric Johnny Knox, CHI, WR
9 129 Greg Visanthe Shiancoe, MIN, TE
10 130 Jim Darren McFadden, OAK, RB

Best Pick of the Round – Greg, Visanthe Shiancoe:  Can’t spell that name either.  Anyway, that Farve guy really like tight ends.  He also like passing to Tight Ends.  ZING!

I hate that fucking traitor.

Worst Pick of the Round – Brian and Louie: Defense = crap shoot.

I’m a Gamblin’ Man – Rick, Carnell Williams:  Cadillac?  Completely – shiny on the outside, but will break down after you drive off the lot.  Though he does have 1,000 yd seasons under his belt.  If he stays healthy, he’s a real steal in the 12th round.

ROUND 13

Pick Overall By Player
1 131 Jim Dallas, DAL, DEF
2 132 Greg New Orleans, NO, DEF
3 133 Eric John Carlson, SEA, TE
4 134 Geoff Devin Aromashadou, CHI, WR
5 135 Warren Philadelphia, PHI, DEF
6 136 Brian Matt Ryan, ATL, QB
7 137 Tom Chester Taylor, CHI, RB
8 138 Louie Heath Miller, PIT, TE
9 139 Rick Carson Palmer, CIN, QB
10 140 Alan Matthew Stafford, DET, QB

ROUND 14

Pick Overall By Player
1 141 Alan Mason Crosby, GB, K
2 142 Rick Ryan Longwell, MIN, K
3 143 Louie Nate Kaeding, SD, K
4 144 Tom Greg Olsen, CHI, TE
5 145 Brian Rob Bironas, TEN, K
6 146 Warren Lawrence Tynes, NYG, K
7 147 Geoff Ben Rothlisberger, PIT, QB
8 148 Eric Big, Fat LenDale White, DEN, RB
9 149 Greg Alex Smith, SF, QB
10 150 Jim Jabar Gaffney, DEN, WR

ROUND 15

Pick Overall By Player
1 151 Jim Kyle Orton, DEN, QB
2 152 Greg Louis Murphy, OAK, WR
3 153 Eric New York Giants, NYG, DEF
4 154 Geoff Rashad Jennings, JAC, RB
5 155 Warren Chad Henne, MIA, QB
6 156 Brian Eddie Royal, DEN, QB
7 157 Tom Rian Lindell, BUF, K
8 158 Louie Lee Evans, BUF, WR
9 159 Rick Braylon Edwards, NYJ, WR
10 160 Alan Golden Tate, SEA, WR

Best Pick of the Round – Greg, Louis Murphy: Nice pick up at the end of the round.  Mostly like going to be the Raiders’ #1 WR.  Also, props to Jim fro Jabar Gaffney.  Florida wideouts being drafted where they belong.

Worst Pick of the Round – Brian, Eddie Royal: He didn’t do jack or shit last year.  Josh McDaniels doesn’t really know what the fuck he’s doing.

Biggest Reach – Geoff, Rashad Jennings:  Who cares?  I already dropped him.

Week 1 preview on Friday.

Sorry, I was out of town and busy.  Here’s Rounds 6-10:

ROUND 6

Pick Overall By Player
1 61 Alan Jermichael Finley, GB, TE
2 62 Rick Hines Ward, PIT, WR
3 63 Louie Vernon Davis, SF, TE
4 64 Tom Wes Welker, NE, WR
5 65 Brian Jeremy Maclin, PHI, WR
6 66 Warren Felix Jones, DAL, RB
7 67 Geoff Justin Forsett, SEA, RB
8 68 Eric Brett Favre, MIN, QB
9 69 Greg CJ Spiller, BUF, RB
10 70 Jim Percy Harvin, MIN, WR

Best Pick of the Round – Alan, Jermichael Finley:  I was quite torn with this pick.  I have major Packer Love, but also major One-ball Hate.  But again the Packers’ offensive is going to be dominant.  Just another cog in the machine.

Worst Pick of the Round – Jim, Percy Harvin: There aren’t really TERRIBLE picks but I guess the worst one would be Harvin.  The migraine thing is super scary.  The fact that he passed out because of one is even scarier.  And he’s a pansy Florida Gator WR – that’s the scariest fact of them all!

Biggest Reach – Alan, Jermichael Finley:  Welcome back Alan.  6th round for an unproven TE with Witten and Gonzo still on the board. You had to do it, but it’s still a reach.

ROUND 7

Pick Overall By Player
1 71 Jim Jason Witten, DAL, TE
2 72 Greg Tony Gonzalez, ATL, TE
3 73 Eric Brent Celek, PHI, TE
4 74 Geoff Malcolm Floyd, SD, WR
5 75 Warren Dwayne Bowe, KC, WR
6 76 Brian Mike Wallace, PIT, WR
7 77 Tom Pittsburgh, PIT, DEF
8 78 Louie Santana Moss, WAS, WR
9 79 Rick Ricky Williams, MIA, RB
10 80 Alan Brandon Jacobs, NYG, RB

Best Pick of the Round – Geoff, Malcolm Floyd: Congratulations to me!  Since I just missed out on the TE run I took the WR1 for one of the best offenses in the league.  Floyd has the size and skills to replace VJax.  Looking and hoping he turns into this year’s Miles Austin.

Worst Pick of the Round – Louie, Santana Moss:  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Alan, Brandon Jacobs: I forgot he took the RB2 for the Giants when the RB1 was still on the board.

Biggest Reach – Tom, Pittsburgh Defense:  I don’t know if he went auto-pick all of a sudden so I didn’t put him as worst pick.  But I have to mention that taking a defense in the 7th round is dumb.

ROUND 8

Pick Overall By Player
1 81 Alan Mike Sims-Walker, JAC, WR
2 82 Rick Donald Driver, GB, WR
3 83 Louie Marion Barber, DAL, RB
4 84 Tom Thomas Jones, KC, RB
5 85 Brian Darren Sproles, SD, RB
6 86 Warren Hakeem Nicks, NYG, WR
7 87 Geoff Ahmad Bradshaw, NYG, RB
8 88 Eric San Francisco, SF, DEF
9 89 Greg TJ Houshmandzadeh, SEABAL, WR
10 90 Jim Joe Flacco, BAL, QB

Best Pick of the Round – Geoff, Ahmad Bradshaw: Sorry but this goes to me again.  A good RB2 in the 8th round is pretty sweet.  Especially when someone (Alan) takes his back up first.

Worst Pick of the Round – Alan, Mike Sims-Walker: Pretty good value all around, but I guess I have to give it to Sims-Walker.  Questions about his knee and the fact that Gerrard is still his QB makes Sims-Walker unreliable.

Biggest Reach – Brian, Darren Sproles:  I think we know what Sproles is going to give you each year.  They really just like him as that third down back.  No real upside means that he probably could’ve been had later.

*Special note – Since the draft, TJ’s been released and then signed by Baltimore.  So he goes from being the #1 option in Seattle to the #4 option.  Sorry Greg.

ROUND 9

Pick Overall By Player
1 91 Jim Clinton Portis, WAS, RB
2 92 Greg Reggie Bush, NO, RB
3 93 Eric Stephen Gostkowski, NE, K
4 94 Geoff Derrick Mason, BAL, WR
5 95 Warren Robert Meachem, NO, WR
6 96 Brian Steve Breaston, ARI, WR
7 97 Tom Fred Jackson, BUF, RB
8 98 Louie Kevin Kolb, PHI, QB
9 99 Rick Green Bay, GB, DEF
10 100 Alan Montario Hardesty, CLE, RB

Best Pick of the Round – Louie, Kevin Kolb: Getting a good starting QB in the 9th round is good.  Getting a starting QB in the 9th round that plays in a system that likes to pass, even better.

Worst Pick of the Round – Alan, Montario Hardesty: Alan loves backups apparently because this was the second time he chose the backup when the starter was still on the board.  Also, did Hardesty even play in a preseason game before he got hurt?

Biggest Reach – Rick, Green Bay Defense:  I can tell you that the Packers D’s got a lot of holes.  But in Capers we trust.  They could definitely get those cheapy INTs and sacks at the end of blowouts.  Still, I wouldn’t draft a D this early.

Rounds 10-15 later tonight.

Well the draft was Wednesday night in case you couldn’t make it (sorry eric…).  It was pretty uneventful except for the fact that Louie didn’t get to draft Peyton Manning this year.  The entire draft took about 70 minutes, a great change from the 3 hour draft fest last year.  Anyway, let’s get to it.

ROUND 1

Pick Overall By Player
1 1 Jim Adrian Peterson, MIN, RB
2 2 Greg Chris Johnson, TEN, RB
3 3 Eric Maurice Jones-Drew, JAC, RB
4 4 Geoff Ray Rice, BAL, RB
5 5 Warren Andre Johnson, HOU, WR
6 6 Brian Michael Turner, ATL, RB
7 7 Tom Drew Brees, NO, QB
8 8 Louie Frank Gore, SF, RB
9 9 Rick Ryan Mathews, SD, RB
10 10 Alan Rashard Mendenhall, PIT, RB

Best Pick of the Round – Louie, Frank Gore: Gore falling to 8 is a great value. Gore has had 1,000+ yds the past four years. With the drafting of two stud O-linemen, Gore could go back to his ’06 year where he had almost 1700 yds.

Worst Pick of the Round – Louie, Frank Gore: VERY disappointed that he didn’t take Peyton Manning.  Breaking a streak like that will haunt you Louie.

Biggest Reach – It’s hard to really have a reach in the first round. All were solid picks. I guess I’d have to give it to Alan because I hate him.

ROUND 2

Pick Overall By Player
1 11 Alan Larry Fitzgerald, ARI, WR
2 12 Rick Randy Moss, NE, WR
3 13 Louie Reggie Wayne, IND, WR
4 14 Tom DeAngelo Williams, CAR, RB
5 15 Brian Aaron Rodgers, GB, QB
6 16 Warren Peyton Manning, IND, QB
7 17 Geoff Roddy White, ATL, WR
8 18 Eric Shonn Greene, NYJ, RB
9 19 Greg Steven Jackson, STL, RB
10 20 Jim Calvin Johnson, DET, WR

Best Pick of the Round – Brian, Aaron Rodgers: I have full on man love for A-Rod.  The Packers are going to have an offensive juggernaut machine and A-Rod’s gonna be the driver.  Brian snagged him in a good spot.  Wanna trade, Brian?

Worst Pick of the Round – Alan, Larry Fitzgerald: Please see the Prediction post.

Biggest Reach – Again, it’s hard to really have a reach in this round. The talent will drop off starting the next round. So I guess I’d have to say Larry Fitzgerald because he’s going to struggle with either Anderson or Leinart as his QB.  And I hate Alan.

ROUND 3

Pick Overall By Player
1 31 Jim Ryan Grant, GB, RB
2 32 Greg Greg Jennings, GB, WR
3 33 Eric Brandon Marshall, MIA, WR
4 34 Geoff Miles Austin, DAL, WR
5 35 Warren Jamaal Charles, KC, RB
6 36 Brian Marques Colston, NO, WR
7 37 Tom Pierre Garcon, IND, WR
8 38 Louie Lesean McCoy, PHI, RB
9 39 Rick Cedric Benson, CIN, RB
10 10 Alan Pierre Thomas, NO, RB

Best Pick of the Round – Greg, Greg Jennings: Choosing the top WR on one of the best offenses in the NFL is a sound strategy.  He didn’t find the end zone much last year, but things should open up with all the new toys A-Rod will have.  Sidenote: I had a dream where Greg Jennings had a ventriliquist dummy of Greg on his lap and Jennings called it “The Greg and Lil’ Greg Show.”

Worst Pick of the Round – Alan, Pierre Thomas: As a Pierre Thomas owner last year, I can tell you how frustrating it is to own him.  For some reason, Sean Payton doesn’t like to give him the rock inside the 10.  Don’t expect him to get Mike Bell’s carries with the way Reggie Bush has been looking.

Biggest Reach – Sorry Tom, but Pierre Garcon?  You know just because his name is “Pierre” doesn’t mean he’s white.  You could have taken real white guys like Tony Romo or Tom Brady.  I don’t know how we could let someone like this in to the league.

ROUND 4

Pick Overall By Player
1 11 Alan Tony Romo, DAL, QB
2 12 Rick Tom Brady, NE, QB
3 13 Louie Anquan Boldin, BAL, WR
4 14 Tom Jonathan Stewart, CAR, RB
5 15 Brian Beanie Wells, ARI, RB
6 16 Warren DeSean Jackson, PHI, WR
7 17 Geoff Matt Schaub, HOU, QB
8 18 Eric Jahvid Best, DET, RB
9 19 Greg Phillip Rivers, SD, QB
10 20 Jim Chad Ochocinco, CIN, WR

Best Pick of the Round – Rick, Tom Brady: Getting a QB who is probably a safe bet to finish as a top 4 QB is a boon to his roster.  Especially when he’s the fifth QB taken.

Worst Pick of the Round – Alan, Tony Romo: Getting a QB who may or may not finish in the top 8 at his position is really questionable.  Especially when there’s TOM MUTHA FU$&#@^ BRADY still on the board.

Biggest Reach – Brian, Beanie Wells: There’s no doubt he’s talented.  But is he even the starter right now?  Are other teams going to stack the line?  Too many questions around that Arizona team for my taste, but could be a homerun.

ROUND 5

Pick Overall By Player
1 31 Jim Knowshon Moreno, DEN, RB
2 32 Greg Steve Smith, CAR, WR
3 33 Eric Steve Smith, NYG, WR
4 34 Geoff Arian Foster, HOU, RB
5 35 Warren Matt Forte, CHI, RB
6 36 Brian Dallas Clark, IND, TE
7 37 Tom Antonio Gates, SD, TE
8 38 Louie Joseph Addai, IND, RB
9 39 Rick Ronnie Brown, MIA, RB
10 10 Alan Michael Crabtree, SF, WR

Best Pick of the Round – Greg, Steve Smith: As frustrating as it was to own Steve Smith last year, he’s still a top ten WR going in the 5th round.  And he still finished top ten last year.  There’ll be up and downs but he’ll still put up points

Worst Pick of the Round – Louie, Joseph Addai: With Addai in a contract year and the Colts needing to see what they have in Donald Brown, Addai isn’t a solid play.  And he’s an injury risk.  And the Colts have other weapons.

Biggest Reach – This one goes to me.  Arian Foster is going to be a hit or miss.  Plus I hate that Gary Kubiak douche for never sticking with one RB.  But I wanted to take the risk and had to take him here or else he wouldn’t come back to me.  I hope Foster, Forsett, or Bradshaw can step up to be my RB2.

Rounds 6-10 tomorrow…

Calm Before the Storm…

Posted: September 1, 2010 in Stuff

See you bitches at 9:30 pm.

… because we still use a snake draft.

Let’s be honest – snake drafts are not as fair as auction drafts.  You are trapped by your randomly selected position.  You do not have an equal chance to get the player that you want.  We are getting one step closer to moving free choice and equality with the addition of FAAB.  But to be truly tested, to truly establish a free and equal world, we need to auction draft next year.

Don’t get me wrong – snake drafts can be fun too.  It’s more fun to openly mock people for over-drafting than over-paying for a player.  And it’s way easier to do a snake draft over email about something completely unrelated to sports such as supermodels, members of congress, or pizza toppings.

But auction drafts are the ultimate test of a fantasy player’s skill.  From managing your auction budget to player proposals to tracking tendencies of your opponents, you focus and strategy is continually challenged.

Let’s do an auction draft next year.

My Packers lit up the Colts for 59 points last night in a pre-season game.  My man crush is full on with Aaron Rodgers.  Alan and Greg might have Tebow-ners, but I have my A-Rod.

Guess who I’m taking with the #4 pick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
